SEO for LLM is an independent publication that explains how AI search engines find, read and cite web pages, and what publishers can realistically do about it. It covers 15 engines with two guides each: one on how the engine works and one on how to rank in it.
Our purpose
Publishers are being told to optimise for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and a long list of other systems, often by people selling the optimisation. Our aim is to give a clear and honest alternative. We want a reader to finish a guide knowing three things: what is documented, what has been observed, and what remains unknown.
We believe good AI visibility is mostly good publishing. Pages that answer real questions, carry specific and checkable details, and are easy for a machine to fetch tend to be the ones that get cited. Most of the work is not a trick. It is clarity, access and trust, applied with some knowledge of how each engine behaves.
What we publish
- Engine guides. What each engine is, where its web results come from, the crawlers it documents and how it shows sources.
- Ranking playbooks. Step-by-step actions in priority order, with examples you can reuse.
- Methodology. The rules we follow, so you can judge our claims. Read it on the methodology page.
Standards we hold ourselves to
| Standard | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Evidence first | Every claim is traced to a documented, observed or reported source |
| Honest limits | Each guide ends with what we could not verify |
| No invented data | No made-up studies, quotes, numbers or test results |
| Plain language | Short sentences, defined terms, examples over abstractions |
| Dated content | Published and updated dates on every article |
| Corrections | Verified errors are fixed and the date is updated |

How the site is funded
SEO for LLM is an independent project. We may show advertising to cover running costs. Advertisers have no say in what we write, and we do not accept payment for coverage of an engine or a vendor. We do not use affiliate links in our guides.
Contact
Questions, corrections and suggestions are welcome through the contact page. If you represent an engine and believe a guide misstates how your product works, send us your documentation and we will review it.
